Pelotonia 2024

Pelotonia is a community that is passionate about ending cancer.

This annual cycling event raises millions of dollars each year to fund innovative, life-saving cancer research. Join our team of riders and volunteers in the fight to end cancer.

Team Crawford Hoying | Brackett

At Crawford Hoying and Brackett, our halls are full of veteran and new riders, volunteers and all-around Pelotonia advocates who have dedicated themselves to this purpose-driven community. We are excited to participate in our fourth year of Pelotonia together as one company, one team, with one goal, because we understand that together we are unstoppable in the commitment to end cancer.

Cancer touches everyone and its impact is deep and personal in every experience. That's why the answer to "Why I Ride" is so important – because each individual story drives our compassion and solidarity in this cause. Throughout our company, we are honored to learn about and support these stories, as well as the people who are brave enough to share them with us and the Pelotonia community.

Cameron Schemmel

Pelotonia Participant

I am riding for the mothers, fathers, husbands, and wives who are no longer able to take a bike ride with their loved ones. Camaraderie is not a strong enough word to describe what this event creates. It creates a family, all with one goal in mind: to end cancer together.

Annissia Collins

Pelotonia Participant

"2024 is my 4th year participating in Pelotonia. Though it's a new year, the goal is the same. I volunteer for my mother and in honor of my grandfather. I am continually inspired by the Pelotonia community and I am hopeful that we will end cancer in my lifetime."

Betsy Hoying

Pelotonia Participant

"Since my ride ended last year, I've had two other acquaintances get diagnosed with cancer. I want to do my part and help to let them know they aren't alone as there are thousands of people riding and raising money for research and treatments to help make their prognosis even just a little bit better."

Shelley Stevens

Pelotonia Participant

I lost my Mom in 1991 to pancreatic cancer, my twin brother in 2018 to colon cancer and chemo induced leukemia and my Dad in 2024 to bladder cancer. I also have two sisters that are currently fighting their battle against cancer. We think our small contributions will never make a difference, but with Pelotonia, a large number of small contributions makes an amazing impact in the fight against cancer.

Jason Hartke

Pelotonia Participant

"The energy at the starting line is incredible. After my first experience, I couldn't wait to get back. It's inspiring to see the number of people out supporting this amazing cause. I'm riding in memory of family and my close friend who have lost their battles with cancer."

Chris Wagner

Pelotonia Participant

"This is my third year riding in Pelotonia. I am dedicating my ride to my daughter Kyra, a cancer survivor."

Trevor Moses

Pelotonia Participant

I am most exciting for the energy that comes along with Pelotonia. The variety of people, companies and organizations coming together in support of one cause: ending cancer.

Kinnedy Kuhn

Pelotonia Participant

"I ride for those who deserve more time with their loved ones. Pelotonia brings the community together in such an incredible way, and I love being part of the experience."

Rachel Castrop

Pelotonia Participant + Team Captain

"The work Pelotonia has done with immunotherapy treatments is truly life changing. I am volunteering to show my gratitude for the amazing doctors and scientists who are advancing cancer treatments each year. Every day I have with my mom is a gift, and I owe that to their tireless commitment."

Jason Campo

Pelotonia Participant

"I'm looking forward to the excitement of riding with my crew! Pelotonia is a great cause and I'm proud to help fund important research in the fight against cancer. I am riding for my Uncle Mike - a 30+ year cancer survivor, Keli, Shannon, Gail, Jennifer and Julie."

Delaney Zapata

Pelotonia Participant

I am riding for my grandmother, Louise, who I lost in 2020 to liver cancer. I'll never forget my first time riding in Pelotonia and seeing cancer survivors holding signs that read, "Keep going" or "Thank you for riding." I can't imagine what they have been through, and to see them cheering is an emotional and rewarding moment. It's an honor to ride and continue to fight.

Dawn Russell

Pelotonia Participant

"This is my first year riding! I will ride for my father-in-law, Joe, as he is battling prostate cancer! I will also ride in memory of my best friend, Krista Crawford."

Pete Kowalski

Pelotonia Participant

"Cancer is a common enemy. It has touched the lives of several friends and family members over the years. I ride in particular for my father-in-law, James, who lost his battle to cancer and my father Richard, a cancer survivor. I am excited to be part of the Pelotonia Family of riders."

Susan Gates

Pelotonia Volunteer

I volunteer for those who are unable to volunteer or ride because they are battling the disease. My experience last year was so rewarding. I couldn't wait to sign up again.

Anthony Schmunk

Pelotonia Participant

"I am riding to support recent close friends that are fighting cancer or have passed away since last year. I'm excited for another chance to ride with a great group of people."

Volunteer for Pelotonia

Volunteering is a great way to get involved if biking isn't your thing. Volunteers can register on the Pelotonia site with the Crawford Hoying team and sign up for a variety of duties, from helping pass out food to distributing rider bags and helping direct riders on Ride Day.

A group of Crawford Hoying employees has signed up to volunteer at the staging area on Saturday, 8/3, at McFerson Commons. We greet riders as they enter the starting line while making sure they are in their correct assigned group. It's amazing to see the riders at the start of their journey and cheer them on their way.

There are countless volunteer opportunities available to support our team directly as well as earn funds for your Pelotonia fundraising. Crawford Hoying will donate $40 per volunteer session to your fundraising efforts (minimum of 2 hours worked), with a maximum of 5 sessions ($200). Volunteers are needed to lead training rides, sell tote bags during four of the Dublin Market at Bridge Park dates, volunteer during Fore!Fest, help support the Celebrity Bartender Event, and more! Feed the Kids hours will also count toward your fundraising efforts.

Contact Rachel Castrop at rcastrop@crawfordhoying.com if you are interested in volunteering for Crawford Hoying events, and contact Annissia Collins at acollins@crawfordhoying.com with questions about volunteering on Ride Day.
