Craft beer, handcrafted tacos and finely crafted spirits: Local Cantina to open on first floor of Centerfield Flats later this year
DAYTON, OHIO - Local Cantina, a favorite taco joint in the Central Ohio region, has announced today that it will be opening its first location in downtown Dayton. With nearly 4,500 SF ofspace including a 635 SF patio, Local Cantina will occupy the entire ground floor of commercial space in the new Centerfield Flats building. The restaurant and bar is set to open later this year.
“Dayton has undergone a recent transformation with booming development,” said George Tanchevski, owner of Local Cantina. “Crawford Hoying [developer at Water Street District and Centerfield Flats] has been a trusted partner of ours for several years and being so close to the locally loved Dragons stadium inspired us to choose this location.”
Local Cantina will overlook the Dayton Dragons Stadium, Fifth Third Field, located in Water Street District - an up and coming area with the newest entertainment and residential options in downtown Dayton. The launch is anticipated to occur in fall 2019 to coincide with residential occupancy of Centerfield Flats’ 110 apartment units. This will be the first Dayton location for the long-time Columbus bar and restaurant staple, and its tenth location overall.
“We’re excited to be a part of Dayton’s growth and hope to continue to grow together,” said Tanchevski. “We aim to make sure that Local Cantina feels like the neighborhood spot.”
