Purposefully located in one of Central Ohio's original and highly ranked suburbs is The Lane development in Upper Arlington. Crawford Hoying worked with several landowners including a church to purchase, redevelop and inject vibrancy to a stagnant key corridor to the community. The early stages of this project were met by strong opposition from both the local community and the community leaders. Through numerous public engagement sessions and collaborative meetings the project was ultimately given the go ahead and is now 100% leased and one of the most vibrant and welcoming parts of the community. The area provides the residents of the development access to a Whole Foods Market and a wide array of restaurants and retail right outside The Lane. It has been a success with young professionals and empty nesters offering a residential product the area desperately needed to both attract new and keep existing residents in the community. The development includes a 109-key Hilton Hotel with downtown and campus access, 13,000 SF of fully leased office space, 12,500 SF of retail and restaurant space including Hudson 29 Kitchen & Drink Restaurant (a Cameron Mitchell Restaurant), Yoga 6, Wright Patt Credit Union and Fukuryu Ramen, 108 for-rent residential units spanning 120,000 SF and a 300-space public/private shared structure parking garage.
