COLUMBUS, OHIO – Bobby George is bringing his Cleveland-based “TownHall” concept to downtown Columbus. TownHall, which has been named “one of the most innovative restaurants in the country” by USA Today, will be George’s first restaurant and bar located in central Ohio. It will occupy 7,200 SF (including a 650 SF patio) on the first floor of the new 800 North High development in the Short North. The restaurant will serve a variety of lunch, dinner and weekend brunch options and is expected to open in summer 2019.
In addition to TownHall, George will incorporate a yet-to-be-named second concept on the tenth floor of the building with a large rooftop bar and lounge with impressive views of downtown Columbus. The 800 North High development also will include a Moxy Hotel by Marriott and 46,000 SF of Class A office space.
“We’ve been looking to expand TownHall for quite a while, but we were waiting for the perfect location in downtown Columbus,” said George. “TownHall is unique to the area, and we look forward to bringing our fresh food and vibe to the Short North.”
Often touted as the best independent restaurant in the country, TownHall not only tastes good, but is good for you. The 100% non-GMO and mostly organic restaurant is known to cater to all diners with its traditional dishes, vegan, vegetarian, low-glycemic, ketogenic and paleo offerings.
In addition to TownHall’s food offerings, they pour their own organic and lab-tested brand of coffee “The Standard” which has been tested for all molds and mycotoxins (results even show that they have the cleanest coffee on the market). TownHall keeps their coffee and beverage programs as forward-thinking as their food ethos, offering caffeine selections ranging from “Bulletproof” coffee to Nitro Toddy and Turmeric lattes.
Visitors are encouraged to sit down and stay awhile to experience all that TownHall has to offer. In addition to healthy menu items, TownHall offers a rotating craft beer selection that is comprised of many rare taps, specialty “cold-pressed” cocktails, made with organic and cold-pressed juices, biodynamic, vegan, and organic wines.
“TownHall is a perfect addition to Short North and the 800 North High development,” said Crawford Hoying Principal, Brent Crawford. “With its non-GMO, healthy food and fun environment, TownHall is bringing something to downtown Columbus that we don’t currently have. We’re excited for this Cleveland staple to open in Central Ohio.”
